faster load times, probably helping texture pop in.
But even more important. NO MORE BUZZSAW.
edit: also, I read the whole thing. very good read.
If microsoft is still the publisher, they'd still be able to have a good amount of control over the advertising. The fact that, as publisher, they control a lot of the money going to bungie and have enough to throw at them to stay shut up, makes it at least an uncertainty.
and bungie's the only studio to have done it too... stupid bungie...
/sarcasm
Do developers have to actually design unique trophies for the trophy system, or are there default trophies so they can almost literally port the 360 achievements over?
I wish some people flat out and obviously lied to reporters to see how gullible the internets is.
Instead of saying "we do not respond to rumors and speculation" they should say something along the lines of "I can guarantee that microsoft is rereleasing 'Jesus' this september. It's the epic journey 2008 years in the making!"
the idea was that everybody takes everybody's ideas and develops them. To say they ripped off nintendo's mii system ignores the things that nintendo ripped off to make the mii system.
He's getting at the issue that people forget nintendo didn't invent the concept of a virtual representation of you in an e-space.
first, Jenzo, some of us could see that he was in fact being sarcastic.
second, have none of you been involved with the technology cycle consciously ever?
Invention is very rarely the part of the process that is adapted as standard, Innovations are what make the best products. You take a good idea, you make it better. The Ipod (mp3 players), every new cell phone (texting, media sharing, video capturing device), every new HDTV, every game console, facebook/myspace(e-c...
E3 isn't just an "american" show. America gets announcements at Leipzig and TGS too. Japan gets announcements at E3.
The whole gaming community is attached to almost every major game conference. It's not a local thing anymore.
Netflix doesn't work outside the US period?
M$ seems to do a lot better at getting stuff to the EU faster and have a more global centric approach rather than a US/Japan approach, which is kind of ironic considering they are getting spanked in the EU.
There really is no stopping themed clothing, which would put avatars way ahead of mii's imo.
I still think it's a waste of time when they can be spending that time IMPROVING XNA, but it's better than nothing I guess. This is the kind of thing I'd like to see later down the road. If developers do back it, it could get very cool very quickly though.
just saying that old themes would apply to it without even showing them would have made it that much better.
I still don't get why they wouldn't even put a mediocre theme on it for the presentation. The presentation version looks so boring compared to these. Anything is better than matte gray.
holy crap thanks!
I enjoyed it a lot mroe than i expected. The combat took a lot of getting used to. So did the camera. Once you get used to it, it's actually a lot of fun. I'm probably going to buy this shortly after release.
M$ has first dibs on publishing rights for all Bungie IPs.
Anyone who watched the credits knows it doesn't end MC's story. It ends the MC/Covenant/Flood (maybe not the flood) story arc.
MC is still very clearly alive, and still stuck in the middle of nowhere on ??? planet. It's very possible they are going to tie halo into marathon, which wouldn't really be a horrible thing.
Also, it could be a non-MC related halo title. more like a front lines shooter as opposed to MC, who was mostly special ops in the games.
O...
also more financial freedom. Considering they're a developer that WILL make money, I'd want to have control over surplus profits too. As it stood, if halo sold an extra 3 million, nobody at bungie would really see much off that.
because Microsoft (the owners of the halo universe) would TOTALLY let that happen.
It's not like the publisher didn't know bungie wanted to announce something. They've been talking about it for months.
More likely the publisher decided to suddenly change the reveal date leaving bungie SoL.
that's not why you hear about it more.
The PS2 errors happened before blogging exploded. The PS2 errors were just about as bad as the 360 ones, and Sony didn't even recognize it as a problem until after a class action lawsuit. So you get maybe 1% of the PS2 errors being reported to the public in some way, and everybody and their mom's making a blog post about how much microsoft sucks.
Microsoft's "mistake" was something that helped a lot too. Do you really ...
The minor points of the story were really dull for the most part. It worked ok as a back story kind of story.
The parts that were there that weren't boring were more foreshadowing the upcoming stuff than being part of the immediate story. The stuff about why the locust are fighting especially brings up an interesting possible duality.
20-30 minutes?! for an optional install?!
WHAT WILL WE DO?!
